Hisn - Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Hisn ("we," "our," or "the App"). Hisn is an Islamic remembrance (adhkar) and prayer times application developed by Arif Edemir. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information.

2. Information We Collect

Hisn processes the minimum information needed to provide and improve the App. Sensitive feature data remains on your device or within your personal iCloud account.

2.1 Location Data (When In Use)

We request access to your location only while the app is in use for the following purposes:

• Prayer time calculation: To determine accurate prayer times based on your geographic coordinates.
• Qibla direction: To calculate the direction of the Qibla from your current location.

Your location data is processed entirely on your device using the Adhan library. It is never transmitted to any server or third party.

2.2 Device Activity (Screen Time API)

Hisn uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls / Managed Settings) to enable the app-blocking feature. This allows the App to:

• Block selected apps until daily adhkar are completed.
• Automatically unblock apps once the adhkar requirement is fulfilled.

Apple's Screen Time API is designed with privacy in mind. Hisn cannot see the names, bundle identifiers, or usage data of your apps. The API uses opaque tokens that only the system can resolve. No device activity data is transmitted off your device.

2.3 User Preferences

Your settings, adhkar progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults (via an app group container). If you use multiple Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account, these preferences may sync via iCloud. This sync is handled entirely by Apple and does not pass through our servers.

2.4 Purchase Information

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat, our subscription management SDK, communicates with Apple's servers to verify purchase receipts and manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives only anonymized purchase data; it does not receive your name, email, or Apple ID.

2.5 Anonymous Product Analytics

Hisn uses TelemetryDeck to understand whether key screens and features are useful. TelemetryDeck processes an anonymous, installation-specific identifier; event names selected by us; and basic app/device metadata such as app version, build number, device model, operating system, language, region, and time zone. This information is used only for analytics, is not linked to your identity, and is not used for advertising or tracking.

Analytics events never include your name, personal Share Studio note, religious text, precise location, selected-app tokens, subscription price, or free-form error messages. Hisn does not create an account or send a custom user identifier to TelemetryDeck.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Data Retention

For information stored locally on your device:

• Your data persists as long as the App is installed on your device.
• Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
• iCloud-synced preferences can be managed through your device's iCloud settings.

TelemetryDeck retains anonymous analytics under its privacy policy. Because Hisn does not send an account, name, email, or custom user identifier, we cannot connect these anonymous records to your real-world identity.

6. Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• Apple's built-in device encryption and security features.
• Apple's iCloud encryption for synced preferences.
• The Screen Time API's opaque token system, which prevents apps from accessing identifiable information about other apps.

We minimize transmitted analytics, use privacy-focused providers, and never include religious content, precise location, or selected-app tokens in analytics events.

7. Children's Privacy

Hisn does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The App does not require account creation and does not collect identifiable personal data from any user, regardless of age.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations), you may have the right to:

• Access: Request information about our data practices. Anonymous analytics cannot be connected to your identity by Hisn.
• Deletion: Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data. Anonymous analytics cannot be located by name or account because Hisn sends neither.
• Opt-out: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device's Settings.
• Portability: Your data is stored in standard formats on your device.

9. International Users

Hisn is available worldwide. Since all data processing occurs on your device and no data is transferred to external servers, there are no cross-border data transfers initiated by us. Any iCloud syncing is governed by Apple's privacy policies and data processing agreements.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
